Joan sought to have her surgery performed by a doctor with a world-class reputation for treating her condition. Joan was concerned about her insurance covering the procedure because she had only been a member for a few days. Yet, her local doctor, her health plan and her local sales agent Cathy Burns, collaborated to give Joan the support she needed. The Today’s Options local care team familiarized the hospital with the health plan and verified that her procedures would be covered. As a result of everyone working together to help Joan, she successfully received treatment at the hospital of her choice and by the specialist her primary care doctor recommended.
