Out-of-Network Coverage
If you go to an out-of-network pharmacy, you may be responsible for paying the
difference between what we would pay for a prescription filled at an in-network pharmacy and what the
out-of-network pharmacy charged for your prescription.
All benefits are available only at network pharmacies, except in case of an emergency. To receive complete
benefits, network pharmacies must be used. Out-of-network pharmacies can be used in emergencies.
TexanPlus HMO has contracts with pharmacies that equals or exceeds CMS requirements for pharmacy
access in your area.
Long-Term Care Pharmacies
Residents of a long-term care facility may access their prescription drugs covered under TexanPlus®
through the facility’s long-term care pharmacy or another network long-term care pharmacy.

Indian Health Service / Tribal / Urban Indian Health Program (I/T/U) Pharmacies
Only Native Americans and Alaska Natives have access to Indian Health Service / Tribal / Urban Indian Health
Program (I/T/U) Pharmacies through TexanPlus pharmacy network. Those other than Native Americans
and Alaskan Natives may be able to access these pharmacies under limited circumstances (e.g., emergencies).
